There is much to do in Northern Wisconsin any time of the year.  Swim, ski, sail, golf, fish, or land your seaplane on Lake Noquebay or just relax on a warm summer day.  Watch the splendor of the fall colors over the lake, do a little hunting, golf, or just relax on the front deck during the Fall.   Do some ice fishing, skating, cross country skiing, or just relax in the large family room in the winter.  Enjoy the budding foliage with a relaxing walk, golf or plant a flower or vegetable garden in the spring.  Did I mention there are LOTS of great golf courses in this area?

What crivitz.com has to say:
Summer Panfish    "Some of the best bluegill fishing in Wisconsin is right on our own Lake Noquebay. This weedy lake is a perfect hangout for big panfish. Fish the open weed pockets with nightcrawlers and leeches. The best action is going to be at the crack of dawn and at around sunset."

Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass    "Largemouth bass are plentiful in Lake Noquebay, (a short, 2 miles east of Crivitz on County Road GG) including some trophy-sized fish. In spring, work the shorelines with plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and shallow-running crankbaits. In summer, work the open pockets within the weeds with spinnerbaits and weedless plastic worms. Surface baits work well in the early morning and evening. Fall is the time to catch the big largemouth on Lake Noquebay, using jigs and plastic worms along the deeper weeds.

Both largemouth and smallmouth bass can be found in the Sandstone Flowage, which is located a few miles west of Crivitz. The fishing is best during the summer months, fishing the stumps and weeds with spinnerbaits and crankbaits."

Marshy Noquebay yields big bucks, grouse

Wisconsin hunting map feature

Fishing and Hunting News

CRIVITZ, Wis. — When you find a marsh and swamp environment close to a large lake in northern Wisconsin, you have the recipe for some huge whitetail bucks. The Lake Noquebay Wildlife Area is no exception.

This area has huge deer that are hard to get at thanks to the habitat, thick marsh and cedar swamp. In addition to the deer hunting opportunities, there are plenty of chances to bag grouse, cottontail rabbits and snowshoe hares.

"The Lake Noquebay Wildlife Area is certainly a good place to go on public land for hunting deer and a variety of other game species," said WDNR Wildlife Manager John Huff (715-582-5000). "Whitetail deer are of course the most hunted species up here, but you can also experience a quality hunt for ruffed grouse, cottontail rabbit and snowshoe hare."
